Hobbies are a global phenomena that has increased dramatically in the 20th and 21st centuries, which in turn has lead to a great increase in hobby organizations that are helping hobbyists get the most out of their hobbies.
Hobbies need to be pleasurable and enjoyable, and it is an activity that is undertaken regularly in ones own time. Hobbies often migrate from one interest to another, with an overlap increasing the enjoyment further.
It is always difficult to categorize different types of hobbies, but in the broader sense, they can be collated as follows:
